Running Around Bangkok With Light Suits Looks So Damn Fun

Freerunners are already freaking insane. I mean, it’s a bunch of dudes turning the world into some sort of video game. How insane is that, right? But when you deck them out in LED lights and have them run around at night in Bangkok? It starts to really look like a video game.

The three freerunners in the video — Jason Paul, Shaun Wood and Anan Anwar — are literally set loose in Thailand and Frank Sauer, the director, captured it all. Sauer says:

One of the biggest challenges was putting together a suit that both looked cool and was functional. It had to be able to withstand the stresses of high impact acrobatic stunts, while adequately lighting up the surroundings as we passed through them. Luckily, Christina Zahra (the costume designer), with a wealth of experience as a fashion designer, was there to put it all together. Armed with a few morphsuits, some batteries, and a plethora of LED strips and duct tape, Christina really did a great job of fashioning together a Tron-style LED suit on a shoe-string budget.

It really is Tron in real life. [Vimeo]
