AppsGonefree hands down. Oh wait! We aren't voting just yet?

Facebook's update this year made it very very good.
AlienBlue for reddit is my favourite app purchase this year.
Jasmine youtube client by the same guy is also an awesome free app.

    Flipboard

I use it on a daily basis with Google Reader, Facebook and Twitter.

Weather & Surf Australia. I am pretty sure it is WinPhone only but it is definitely the best weather app I have seen and without it I am totally at the mercy of the elements.

Few nominees that have all helped me (try) and lose a little bit of weight.

RunKeeper - Does a good job of keeping track when I go walking
MyFitnessPal - My preferred food tracking system. Good interface and extensive database
Lift - Allows you to create habits and then check in to them. Makes me feel bad when I get lazy

    Unrelated but also good:
Weave - Really nice project management system
