New York Mayor Used Incredible 3D-Printed Scissors For A 3D Printing Factory Ribbon Cutting

Not only did New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg cut the ribbon today at the new Shapeways 3D printing factory in NYC, he did it using 3D-printed scissors. And they came out of the printer fully assembled.

How amazing is that? 3D printing is absolutely magical — these crazy machines use selective laser sintering to print complex moving parts, and you don’t even have to put anything together. Shapeways will soon pump out insane products by the millions when its new 25,000 square-foot factory opens in January. It’ll be home to between 30 and 50 industrial sized 3D printers, meaning not just scissors, but even more mind blowing products that materialise out of a printer. [@NYCGov]
