Alongside the iPad Mini launch the other day, Apple quietly rolled out a meatier, 12W power adaptor. Turns out it will charge all the old iPads iterations quicker.
Apple has confirmed to 9to5mac that the new 12W iPad power adaptor will charge old iPads quicker than the older 10W adaptors. Apple explained:
“We don’t have an exact percentage of how much faster it would charge but you should see an increase in speed.”
Apple has also confirmed that the iPad Mini will ship with a 12W adaptor, so you can expect speedy charging for the little one too. If you want to upgrade your adaptor to charge your existing iPad faster, it costs $25 from Apple in Australia. [Apple via 9to5mac]
