Google’s Big Android Event Cancelled Due To Hurricane Sandy

So much for fun new Android goodness next Monday, October 29. Google’s big event in New York City as been cancelled (perhaps rightly so) due to the incoming frankenstorm Hurricane Sandy.

The event, which was all but certainly going to involve the announcement of the new Nexus 4, a Nexus 10 tablet, and a new models of the Nexus 7, was originally in an area that is now an evacuation zone. Microsoft’s duelling Windows Phone 8 event, on the other side of the country in San Francisco, now gets the opportunity to proceed with 100 percent of the day’s spotlight. No word yet on when the Android event may be rescheduled.
