Jony Ive Teams Up With Leica To Design One-Off M-Series Camera

Everything that Jony Ive touches seem to turn to gold, so it will come as good news to rich photographers everywhere that he’s teaming up with Leica to design a super-limited edition of the M-series camera.

On the back of last night’s M launch, Leica boss Dr Andreas Kaufmann revealed that he is to work with Ive on a limited edition version of the camera. In fact, it’s going to be so limited that only one unit will ever be produced.

The single camera will be auctioned off for charity. With the bog-standard Leica M expected to retail for around $US7000, well-off Ive fanboys had better prime their chequebooks for what could be an incredibly expensive purchase. [Peta Pixel]
