So far we’ve only had the chance to hear about the capabilities of Nokia’s sweet-sounding City Lens augmented reality app. If you’ve got a Nokia Lumia 900, 800 or 710, you can get a beta version of the app right now.
City Lens works much like Yelp’s Monocle: point it at a street corner and your phone’s screen will serve up the names of the restaurants and shops in the immediate area. Sounds like something you want to check out, right? Here’s how.
If you want to download the app, you can simply search for it in the Windows Phone Marketplace from your Nokia Windows Phone 7 device. You can also use scan this QR code from your Nokia phone to get access to the beta.
Here are SlashGear’s instructions on how to download the app:
1. Press the Search button on your Nokia Lumia and then tap Vision
2. Scan the barcode
3. Tap on the link when it appears on the screen
4. Install the application from the Windows Phone Marketplace
Remember, you must have a Nokia device to get the app. It won’t work if you search for it from anywhere other than a Nokia Windows Phone device. Give it a shot and let us know what you think of it in the comments below. [SlashGear]
