The Attention To Detail In This 50,000-Lego Brick Rivendell Is Astonishing

Where do hardcore Lego builders find the patience to build these amazing dioramas? It’s not like placing pieces incorrectly is very forgiving — a decision you made with a block hours ago could make it difficult or impossible to achieve the look or structure you want. I guess that explains the nearly four days of planning required to build this model of Rivendell from Lord of the Rings.

Constructed by Lego builders Blake Baer and Jack Bittner, the plastic town’s dimensions are 101.6cm by 76.2cm and it’ll make both your feet nervous with its 54.4kg weight. Not something you’d want to have slip off a table for many, many reasons. And how good does that water look?

Their Flickr page is packed with additional high-resolution photos, so if you’d like to see this excellent recreation from other angles, head on over.
