Sony Xperia Go Can Be Fully Immersed In Water

Good news for anyone that’s ever been pushed into a pool at a party with their phone on them: Sony today released the Xperia go to market and it’s durable and fully immersible in water.

The 3.5-inch, scratch resistant and waterproof Xperia go launches today at Optus, AllPhones and Telechoice stores with Android 2.3, a 5-megapixel camera and a 1Ghz dual-core processor. It’s cheap, too. The Xperia go will set you back $30 per month from Optus.

The party piece though is the immersion capability. The go is rated to protect against liquid ingress when immersed in 15cm of water for a period of 30 minutes.

Here’s a screenshot from today’s Sony Sessions showing it working underwater.

Is this the saving grace of party goers everywhere?
