Engadget has gotten its hands on some leaked specs and pictures of what could be Motorola’s next phone — the Droid Razr M 4G LTE — the device that is expected to be announced in a September 5 event.
It looks different from what popped up on YouTube (and was swiftly removed) last week. But if this is actually the real thing, it’s ugly as sin and may already be outdated when it launches. The device will reportedly sport a 4.3-inch qHD 960×540 Super AMOLED Advanced display, dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 chip, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. That’s less memory and storage than the Galaxy S III, and the display is smaller too.
The cameras sound decent though — rumour has it the Razr will have an 8MP sensor on the back and a 3MP lens on the front, which is pretty impressive and outguns the Galaxy S III in that department. 1080p video is a part of that package too. Additionally, the phone will supposedly have NFC, a super-tough Gorilla Glass screen, full GSM/UMTS/HSPA+ global roaming and microSD support.
It’s supposedly coming with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich installed, which sucks considering Jelly Bean came out two months ago. But, hey, there’s also a chance this leak could be totally bogus and Motorola might drop something completely wonderful.
