$100m Contracts Are Signed With iPads Now

Deron Williams, NBA point guard and saviour of ironic sport liking, just inked a new contract to stay with the Brooklyn Nets. Well, inked is the wrong word since Williams actually signed his five-year $US98 million contract on an iPad with his finger.

This is what Williams, who’s in Las Vegas for Team USA Basketball training, had to say about signing his deal on Twitter (the guy is just all technology-friendly!):

Officially a Brooklyn Net! Signed my contract on an iPad Just thank God for this wonderful Opportunity #HelloBrooklyn lockerz.com/s/223996151

I wonder if Williams specifically wanted to sign his deal on an iPad over a stack of papers or if that’s just how $US100 million contracts are signed these days. I wonder if he gets to keep the iPad. I wonder if he thinks the rumoured iPad mini or a Nexus 7 or a Kindle Fire would be just as good for signing contracts. Also, taking a look at his signature on the iPad, I’d have to say he did a pretty good job with just his finger. Who needs a stylus, right? [Twitter]
