Good News Kodak, This Little Black Dress Has Found A New Use For Film

When the lights are off, Emily Steel’s Little Slide Dress just looks like your standard black cocktail dress. But it’s hiding a secret that’s revealed when she turns on its embedded array of LEDs.

The dress is actually made of film slides, and the LED backlighting is controlled by a sensor that adjusts the brightness based on the ambient lighting in a room. When it’s bright, it looks like a regular black dress (although, a bit on the glossy side) but when the lights do down, it begins to pulse and glow, revealing a literal slide show of images. Perhaps Kodak can finally turn things around by venturing into the world of fashion? [Emily Steel via PSFK]
