Many have assumed that Pinterest merely serves as an online stomping ground for wedding planning. As the US Central Command’s presence on the social network shows, that assumption is patently false. In fact, Pinterest is more than just Tumblr for ladies, it’s Tumblr for WAR DOGS.

Not that there’s really anything awesome about actual military action, but this shot, which was able to capture flares in mid-air, which were fired from a helicoper aiding special forces, is as impressive as it is haunting.

This is like an archaeology dig of sorts. If you consider hunting for a buried improvised explosive device a form of Archaeology.
