According to Reuters, Apple is in talks to secure content from three major movie studios for the Apple TV and potentially for the long-rumoured Apple HDTV.
The report says that Apple is talking to Epix — a streaming service co-owned by Lions Gate Entertainment Corp, MGM and Paramount Pictures — about securing the service’s library on its products. It’s unclear how exactly the deal would work, but the implication is that the deal would be for more than just the Apple TV.
This speculation is based on unnamed sources with all parties declining to comment. Even if would appear to make sense, we’ll believe it when we see it.[Reuters]
