NASA Explains Again Why The World Isn’t Ending

2012 is shaping up to be an action-packed year for the Earth — it’s scheduled to end on no less than three separate occasions! If the the black hole and supernova don’t obliterate us, the mystical Mayan catastrophe surely will, right? Let’s ask NASA.

NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab have produced the video above, featuring Don Yeomans. In it, Yeomans lays out a concise, articulate explanation of the workings of the Mayan Calendar system, the importance of December 21st (the presumed date of the end times), and why thinking that the world will end because of this is about as silly as worrying about the Y2K bug. Or The Rapture. Or Man-Bear-Pig. [NASA via Forbes]
