I’d Live In This Incredibly Detailed Hogwarts Castle Model

The films might be complete, but Warner Bros will continue to milk the Harry Potter franchise for all it’s worth. Starting March 31, a new studio tour will give fans a behind-the-scenes peek at the movies, including this stunning model of Hogwarts.

You’ll unfortunately have to be in London to partake in the Warner Bros Harry Potter studio tour, but it just might be worth crossing the ocean for. Originally built for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, this ornate model of Hogwarts Castle was used for exterior shots in every single film.

It was built by 86 artists and craftsman, and includes over 2500 fibre optic lights to simulate lanterns and torches, tiny little owls inhabiting the Owlery, and even minute details like working hinges on all the doors. A far cry from the dilapidated shoebox forts my G.I. Joes called home.

In addition to the castle model, visitors will also be able to tour many of the other sets used in the Harry Potter films like Diagon Alley, the great hall, and Dumbledore’s office. Plus props, creatures and anything else Warner Brothers can scrape together to help sell tickets to the tour. [The Daily Mail via Coudal]
