So this happened. It’s a father reacting to a post his daughter made on Facebook. He wasn’t happy. You can skip ahead to seven minutes for the big reveal.
I’m not convinced this is real, but it’s an interesting look at modern parenting. The link to a Facebook page that appears at the beginning of the video (and on YouTube) seems to have been taken down.

Funny stuff. I don't find it, at all, disturbing that a disgruntled parent has a .45 with hollow point bullets (Which cost $1.00 each) handy to sort out their kids laptop... No... Not at all...
pfft everyone knows you need to use FMJ for taking down a laptop
Hey a responsible parent actually monitoring their childs internet usage.
Destroying the disrespectful brats Laptop is the only way to get through to her.
Good on him, maybe if more people took an active role in their lives there wouldn't so many brats about.
This guy has a legitimate point, yes, people may say shooting it is bad, but eh, he is teaching her a lesson and nobody is being harmed (well, she may be upset about it)
Red necks is the craziest peoples... :)
Two problems, paying for the bullets to shoot the laptop, too much. Also what self respecting IT professional pays $130 for software to "fix" and "clean" a laptop.
A self-respecting IT professional who doesn't pirate software (let's say he purchased a 2 year Kaspersky subscription).
Ok, first off, the whole thing was not about how much money he paid to repair and upgrade a laptop. It was about teaching a child a lesson. It is not about money or the lap top or upgrades. Stop concentrating on what is NOT the issue.
PS: My dad would have taken a skill saw to it to save money on bullets. I would have thrown it into one hell of a fire. That parent is one of the few parents who actually parent their child. He rocks!
I see where this guy is coming from........
I smashed my son's xbox360 in front of him with a sledgehammer for being a lying douche.
God I hope this is real!
And to you James, bwahahahahahaa, win!!!
Too bad if she needed to use that laptop for her school work.. This guy is a thinker. If he works in IT he could have simply blocked Facebook on the laptop. For most teens these days that would be hell anyway.
So you could just drop it on the ground or hit it with a hammer. A gun? What does this guy think his daughter is going to do in response to this? I doubt that she'll toe the line, I suspect this is the beginning of the end of their relationship.
What happened to do as I do, and not do as I say...
No Proof that it is THE laptop... (Didn't even turn it over to show that the bullets messed it all up....
Could just be an empty case of a similar (colour) laptop.....
Probably the real one is in safe storage......
BTW, using a gun to get the point across Who cares, Just Australian Peacenicks who have never seen a gun in their lives (oh except for in the holster of a Police officer) and think that anyone who even has a gun is a Red-neck, Criminal (must be sort of the same) or crazy, therefore shouldn't have access to firearms.
Of course to do that in Australia would end you up in Gaol (Jail for those who prefer) as it is pretty much an offence to Discharge a Pistol anywhere off a Registered range (check that too), hell even to have a loaded Gun outside a shooting butt is probably a firearms offence.
Or the whole story is Fake... some red-neck just wanted to shoot-up an old laptop.. and made up a story... would have been cool to see the battery blow up after a bullet went through the LiPo.
Damn straight.
Parents, you spoil your kids too much.
How many volunteer? How many spend x hours a day compressing their spines and burning their retina exercising those troubled attitude in forums and online games.
Parents, you are to blame. This guy just showed you how to "take the power back". (quote: rage against the machine) (pun: intended)
folks I can assure you that he really did shoot her real laptop. He is my brother and there is no doubt in my mind whatsoever that it made him made as hell to actually destroy a computer, but he didnt givr it a second thought
Legend.
The moral of the story is that actions have consequences. Last time, he said "it'll be worse next time". This time, it's worse.
There are many times the old "back in my day" argument is invalid, but this is not one of them.
+1 for laying it down. Sick of little brats and this modern false sense of entitlement. I'm only 22 and I can see the vast difference between my brothers year of students (2011) and those upcoming, I am afraid for humanity, so very afraid...
dang that had to suck i wouldnt like that because my laptop cost almost 2000 dollars and i would hate to have to go buy a new one
