This Ice Sign Is The Ghost Of Winter Traffic Enforcement

As the harsh winter washes over the northern hemisphere, it’s amazing images like this that remind people to go outside and enjoy the majesty of snow and ice. Actually, let someone else go outside and take photos. It’s cold.

Call it a long shot, but I’m guessing this photo was taken in French-Canadian province of Quebec. The word “rue” on the street sign sort of gives it away. Sure, it’s beautiful and eerie how the ice is slowly slipping away from the sign, like moulting metal snake… but am I the only one that wants to run up and smash it to pieces? [Reddit]

        Cold metal.

Water hits cold metal and freezes.

over time it gets heavy and starts to come away from the sign as it gets warmer.
