The Windows Store will be Microsoft’s answer to the Mac App Store. The Verge got an unnamed Microsoft source to squeal about some of the games that will debut in the marketplace. Yes, of course Angry Birds is in there.
Here’s the alleged list:
• Hydro Thunder
• Toy Soldiers
• Reckless Racing
• Angry Birds
• Ilomilo
• Rocket Riot
• Full House Poker
• Tentacles
• Crash Course
• Ms Splosion Man
• Wordament
Nothing mindblowing, although it’s hard to ever be mad about Hydro Thunder. Expect to see the store pop up later this month. [The Verge]

Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 11:44 AMI wonder, if I have purchased these on WindowsPhone… would they be ‘free’ on Windows?

Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 12:11 PMWindows Phone 8 is going to be different to Windows 8. I suspect that the games will be different products for different platforms (you can’t use your S40 Angry Birds license to play the same game on an iPad). I expect more than casual phone-like gaming out of my desktop or other x86 system, so it’s no big deal to me.
Having said that, it would be very interesting if Windows ARM 8 (or whatever they call the ARM version of Win8) has full BC for WP7 apps, considering the hardware similarities.
