Beautiful Way To Carry Essential Cash And Cards

My wallet is a big leather repository for the millions of tiny pieces of paper I accumulate everyday. I try to keep it clean, but somehow I’m still carrying years worth of membership cards, business cards and even foreign currency. And until I saw this elegant little money clip, I never really thought I had an alternative.

The Slim money clip from Human Republic is a striking piece of design that keeps you from porting around more than your need in your back pocket. Wallets fill up with junk because there’s room for it, but unfortunately there aren’t many alternatives. Most money clips are too minimal. I don’t want everything jumbled together into a single clasp. But the Slim money clip works around this limitation; it’s really three money clips folded out of a single piece of brushed steel. The slender package has just the right amount of storage to comfortably carry my cash, a couple of cards, a driver’s licence and my Metrocard. And when I’m tempted to pickup a business card or keep a receipt, I’ll have to ask myself: Is this worthy of my beautiful money clip? The Slim money clip is now available for $US50. I have a nice slimline leather wallet that also has the no-room-for-anything-but-the-essentials “feature”, and as a bonus, I don’t have to look like a pimp when paying for something!
The only reason to own a money clip is to show off your enormous wad of cash..
For normal people, a slim wallet does the job fine, although it does take a few weeks to get over the feeling of loss you get in the culling process from a normal wallet to a slimline.

Sorry Stevo. That may be your impression of a money clip but I have been using them for years with no backlash.

They don’t have to be stuffed with money…

I have a couple. A strait money clip – no cards and one that is a clip plus a card holder. Depends on where you are going, what you are doing etc.

it was made useful a whole ONE time when travelling overseas to hold my extra currency in a suitcase…
soss i guess it all comes down to context…

I just got sick of the whole 3 inch thick wallet thing. Cary around a bunch of crap that you don’t need use. The clip(s) force you to cut down.

I carry mine in a role of hundreds. I try to ensure its no more than 5cm in diameter but you know, some times its hard.

I dumped my wallet years ago. I have a Iphone Case / Wallet. It has space for 2 credit cards and some cash. I pocket coins and keep all other cards as pics on my phone.

Just need to be able to open/start car with my phone and thats all I will walk out of house with.

I use a money clip as it is smaller and more convenient than a slim wallet. I usually dont have more than a couple of hundred dollars in it, so it is definately not to show off wads of cash. I keep my 2 cards, license in it also. I find that the cards/license in between the folded notes makes it really easy to slide the clip over the bundle. If for any reason Im carrying a larger than normal amount of cash, I have the high value notes on the inside with a 5 or 10 on the outside, so if someone happens to notice it, I dont appear to be a wealthy target. I thought of, and really liked the idea of phone/card case, but it makes the phone chunkier. Having them separate makes it easier to lend the phone to someone and keeps both pockets less bulky rather than one more bulky pocket.
