When OK Go were asked to appear on Sesame Street, the result was always going to be great. Their contribution, a song and stop-motion animation explaining the primary colours, is wonderful. Show it to your kids, or just watch it yourself. [Sesame Street via Laughing Squid]

While it’s true you can mix the pigments cyan, magenta and yellow together to produce any colour, they work by taking away the light that’s coming in.
If you were talking about building any colour you’d use red, green and blue lights to make what you need.
I tend to think of red, green and blue as the real primary colours you use to build things, subtractive pigments are just the way we filter them out.
With regards to the video itself, I approve, OK Go have a nack for making something visually entertaining.
