We already knew that the Lumia 800 was due to hit Aussie shores in March, and we’ve already seen what our US reviewers thought of Nokia’s first Windows Phone 7 smartphone. Nokia’s just tweeted out the local RRP for when it does arrive, when it’ll cost you $699.
Nokia’s tweet (from the @NokiaAustralia account) is short and to the point:
As you know the Nokia Lumia 800 will hit Aussie shores in March. We can now confirm the RRP is AUD$699.
Still no word on when in March we might see it, however. Perhaps it’ll be announced via Facebook?

Wow, UMTS (3G)/HSPA(3.5G) costs $142.35 (considering $50.60 GST).

Friday, February 3, 2012 at 9:45 AMWhen was the last time you had a problem with a phone? For me it was about 2004 with a Siemens jobbie. Warranty isn’t even an issue for me, I’m much more likely to lose it or drop it overboard, although SmoothMobiles will give you a local warranty for $40 if you are stupid enough to think you need one. I just bought a black one from them for $475 ($504 delivered). It should arrive on Monday.

Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 1:47 PMYes, it does seem to be coded more efficiently than Android and gives excellent performance on relatively modest hardware.

Friday, February 3, 2012 at 8:48 AMImports won’t have Nokia Drive or Nokia Music will they?
MotorMouth
Friday, February 3, 2012 at 9:48 AMWhy not? I assume that stuff is factory loaded. You just need to download the maps for your locale, which I believe you need to do regardless. But Mango has turn by turn nav and Zune anyway, so I don’t really know if either of those services are worth the effort. We used Mango’s nav in the US a couple of months ago and it worked perfectly well when the phone could get a satellite signal (should have had a windscreen mount for it).

Friday, February 3, 2012 at 2:58 PMoh ok. Mobicity says something like as its imported it doesn’t come with drive / nokia music. apparently drive is better than the default? Though the default is fine. I suppose i just need to consider how much i want to pay for a new gPs app :P should look at imports now :P

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 4:23 PMMine arrived today from Smooth Mobiles. Everything is in Chinese but I found the screen to change the language to Engrish and its all good now. It has Nokia Drive and Nokia Maps, as well as another Nokia app in Chinese, which I assume is Nokia Music.
