Sony Pictures has just released its newest trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man, the first film in a rebooted franchise. Hundreds of fans lined up this evening for a sneak peek 3D screening at Event Cinemas on George St, Sydney. Were ya there? Did ya see it?
The July-bound film probably won’t knock Chronicle out as my favourite film of the year, but I’m loving all the visual effects and the curious new web-shooting mechanism. I reckon it’ll be the best Spidey yet. [YouTube]

February 7, 2012 at 10:54 PMJust looks like more of the same to me. I mean, we had a Spider Man origin story just 10 years ago – who needs another one?

February 8, 2012 at 1:14 AMWhat about the two “Hulk” origin stories we had a couple of years apart?

February 8, 2012 at 5:54 AMI know it seems very recent to most but 10 years is a pretty damn long time. They seem to have gone a little younger with the cast and a little darker with the story so why not reboot it.
It’s not like they don’t do it for cartoons and comics all the time and even old stories like Robin Hood get a million reboots and variations thru TV and movies.
