US Senate Trying To Sneak In New SOPA Bill?

After the internet bandied up together and killed SOPA, you’d think the government would be a little weary of introducing SOPA-like bills less the internet start a revolution and start calling out dumb politicians. Guess not though, because it looks like Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid still wants to censor the internet with a new bill hidden under the mask of cybersecurity. SOPA in sheep’s clothing.

According to The Daily Caller, details about the bill are “shrouded in secrecy” though “clues available to the public suggest that the bill might be stronger” than previous bills and “broadly expand the authority of executive branch agencies over the internet”. Supposedly, Reid will couch the new SOPA with some sort of cybersecurity bill to create a Frankenstein monster law. Of course, this is all conjecture, which means nothing is really happening yet but it’s clear that the government wants something to happen.

We don’t want to cry wolf on this bill but it’s clear that the government has full intention in creating laws that’ll shackle down the free reign of the Internet. When will they learn. We’ll keep an eye on this as it progresses. [The Daily Caller]
