Aussie Innovation Kisses Helmet Hair Goodbye

An Australian company has created this AirHead helmet insert, which helps reduce the embarrassing effects of 'helmet hair' for motorcycle riders. It also further solidifies Australia's position as the world leader in hairstyle preservation.

When your head is crammed inside a helmet for hours at a time, it can get pretty hot and humid in there which has the unfortunate side effect of flattening your do. So the AirHead creates a little bit of extra space between your scalp and the helmet, helping to keep things cool, sweat-free, and preserving the wearer's hair style.

It's just $25, installs without any kind of adhesives, and even comes in a variety of different designs letting perfectly coiffed bikers express their individuality.

If you think Easy Rider wouldn't have jumped at this product were it available in the 60's, you're kidding yourself. There's nothing wrong with looking good while you're sticking it to the man. [Two Wheel Cool via Ubergizmo]

Pretty sure J.D. had the hairmet in scrubs first.

Yeah, but he can't do this all on his own. He's no superman.

Like wearing those comfs sandals, pretty sure this would drive me nuts. Also I keep my hair down to a number three length just for this very problem. Oh, plus it's so much easier to keep my hair tidy that way.

Will test it out on my bikes for free ;)

This looks uncomfortable for longer trips.

What if you fall off the bike and actually hit something, which is the primary function of the helmet? Those spikes probably wont be all that great when impaled in your head..

dude they're just rubber bumps. I think that'd be the least of your problems! :P

I'm a daily motorbike rider, and don't even bother styling my hair its just long and flows, but helmet hair sucks!. Going to buy one and will see how it goes.

Helmet hair is part of motorcycling culture. Why would you want to destroy that?!
