Anyone Want A 25-Year Old Mobile?

Gizmodo AU

Telstra put its first mobile handset on sale in Australia 25 years ago. It was priced at $5,200 (think $12,000 in 2012 pricing), you could only use it in Sydney, and it ran out of power after talking for 20 minutes. Just remember that the next time you’re complaining about signal. Also: August 9, 1981: Telstra Makes Australia’s First Mobile Call [Telstra]
