Xperia S Is Sony’s Next PlayStation Phone

Having finally ditched the Ericsson partnership, Sony has shown off its second Playstation-certified handset, the Xperia S, at CES today. While no Aussie release details have been confirmed, it’s still enough to drool over.

With a 4.3-inch screen with a 1280 x 720 resolution, the handset features a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 12MP camera with Sony’s Exmor R technology, built in NFC support and Playstation Certification, giving you access to Playstation games on the device.

It’s stunning to look at, despite the fact that it will only launch with Gingerbread when it hits “selected markets” this quarter. On the upside, an ICS update will happen Q2, so hopefully the gap between hardware and software won’t be too big.
