I’m sad that this awesome expandable caravan is not real (yet). It’s the only caravan I would consider towing with the 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS I don’t have (yet). I imagine myself bringing it to the Valley of the Gods and waking up looking through that window.
Created by student Jakub Novák, the Odorico Pordenone — named after Italian medieval traveller Odoric of Pordenone — is not just a pie in the sky design project. The mechanics of its expandable architecture are solid engineering, not just a pretty rendering. It’s just waiting for some company to licence it and put it into production. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 8:44 AMOne day I want to own one of these things.. maybe not one of these specifically.. but I’ve always liked the idea of a caravan/motor-home.. it’s like a tree-house on wheels. I also want to own a hobby farm with ducks and cows too.. :)

but the caravan is a very cool concept, I’m really surprised that it hasn’t been in production before, this seems like a much easier way to create more space in a caravan without heaps of effort, just have to work out how to make the roof height suitable so it’s not 7 feet tall behind a car towing it

Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 10:30 AMYup, ducks are pretty awesome.. I have a tidal river outside my apartment that I can watch ducks all day and night.. they do get a bit roudy around mating season :) but they are generally pretty well behaved as well as very social and protective of each other.. a little like cows actually..
