The Future Of CGI Is Using Motion Capture To Recreate Inanimate Objects

Some people complain that there’s too much CGI in movies. Nothing is quote unquote real anymore. I say screw them. Let’s CGI anything possible. Actors posing as furniture! Motion-capturing non-motion! Backgrounds! Guns! Lamps! All CGI everything, baby.

This Funny or Die video pokes fun at the CGI craze by doing just that. [Funny or Die]

Watched SW-EP2: Attack of the Clones on Bluray last night. That movie is riddled with CGI in EVERY SCENE, making the movie look stupid and boring. Even scenes they could have done in real life, they chose to make use of heavy CGI. Sorry, but everything in moderation. I dont mind CGI but if its being used to create everything, then its just annoying and boring, especially if done poorly like in Star Wars.

When they can make it so you can’t tell the difference, I’ll accept it as OK. Making cheap CGI movies like “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” just makes it easier for future directors and producers to make similar shit, because. hey they got away with before, people won’t care! Bullshit, do it right or just don’t do it!
