With its incredibly vivid colours and deep, dark, bottom-of-the-Marianas-Trench level blacks, the Samsung Super OLED blew us away. And then there’s its incredible picture, thinness and tiny bezel. The 3D TV will be available sometime in 2012, and will probably empty more than a few bank accounts.

Gotta hand it to Samsung for developing the right kind of display technology that seems to just get better and better every few years. This sort of stuff must make Sony, LG and others go sulk in a dark corner somewhere…

Wonder how LG are feeling now after releasing that OLED screen the other day, then to see this thing today. Yep, back in the corner indeed ;)

Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 1:25 PM…will all depend on the price. If I can pick up one of those new 55″ plasmas for $2,500 and this thing’s gonna cost me at least $4,000 I know which one i’ll be buying. If it’s within $500 or so I’d definitely go the ‘Sung.

I’ll wait a couple of years and let the new technology find it’s level. Hopefully by then, glasses-less 3D will be the norm too!
