This is Boeing’s next big destructive bad boy. “Boeing is in production on at least one ‘proprietary’ strike weapon system,” says Shelley Lavender, VP and General Manager of Boeing’s global strike systems. Nobody knows anything about it.
The weapon was shown for the first time at the Surface Navy Association’s annual conference in Washington D.C. It could be a Tomahawk-ish cruise missile that can fit in the F-35′s weapons bay or some other munition. All we know is that it is big and unlike anything in the current US arsenal. Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 11:46 AMResearch into high tech, highly accurate, pinpointed, low collateral damage weapons is definitely better than the “make as big an explosion as possible & detroy everything in an x km radius” alternative.
Then again who knows what this is. It might be a deployable neutron star for all we know.

Sounds like just the sort of superduper “highly accurate, pinpointed, low collateral damage weapon”
You just copped a beatdown from some quotations marks. Boom, you may sit the fuck down at your closest convenience.

Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 8:10 AMI imagine the shape provides lift, and that this weapon has the ability to glide laterally unlike previous guided bombs. This is interesting, as the launch vehicle would not have to approach the actual target, rather this weapon may allow considerable stand-off launch capability. Stealth may be detectable, but if the advisary’s do detect something and get a hint of your presence, but the presence isn’t approaching the intended target, your intentions will not be revealed in advance.
