Mushkin’s Speedy New SSD Drives Are At The Top Of My Post-CES Buy List

My new years resolution — stop putting up with the interminably slow boot times of my desktop’s conventional hard drive. With these new solid state drives from Mushkin, I may actually keep my resolution past January.

First up is the Chronos Go. It features 560MB/s sequential write-speeds and 525MB/s read-speeds with up to a 480GB capacity in a 1.8-inch form factor. The Atlas mSATA SSD has similar read and write speeds as the Chronos — though the Delux version writes at 535MB/s — but is designed to fit into Laptops and Ultrabooks.

The Scorpion PCIe modular SSD is also very cool. Its modular design allows for up to four cards to be chained in a RAID array with blistering sequential read-speeds of 1275MB/s and sequential write-speeds of 1500MB/s. It is slated to hit market sometime during the first half of the year. No prices have been set yet. [Daily Tech via Engadget]
