Lunchtime Deals: 40-Inch Samsung TV For $796

Gizmodo AU

JB HiFi are selling this 40-inch 3D Samsung LCD for just over $500 off the RRP with free shipping included. That sounds like a bargain. Specs-wise, it’s a 1080p 3D screen with DLNA, USB video recording and playback, 4 x HDMI inputsplus Samsung’s Smart TV software and content on board. Tough to go past if you’re looking for a new 40-incher… [JB Hifi via OzBargain]

I wouldn’t mind a Samsung with the Smart TV DLNA so I can stream direct to it from my Galaxy S2.. This deal just came at the wrong time..

Just a word of caution. If this is 3D Ready then you will have to get additional hardware.

    I have a 46″ 3D TV from Samsung 6600 series I think and it’s awesome :)
I was playing MW3 on that and even paused the game at several places just to look at the beautiful display. Even too some snaps of it :P

Samsung don’t have any 2011 model TVs that need extra hardware for 3D. Only if you want more than one pair of glasses.

Make sure to read this article before you consider buying a Samsung TV.

They were one of my fave TV manufacturers until this issue came out.

A year and a half ago (when that article came out) is an eternity in tech terms though

Samsung has alot of problems lately, hard to reccomend them. Very poor quality control across their entire product range.
