Technically not available until tomorrow, it’s still worth knowing about early – Big W is selling the BDP-S185 Sony Blu-ray player bundled with the three good Star Wars films on Blu-ray for just $98. That’s a hard bundle to pass up, even with Lucas’ incessant meddling with the Blu-ray versions… [BigW via OzBargain]

Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 1:11 PMThe three good ones.. by that I assume you mean The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith.. the ones with Jar-jar Binks.. yes, you’re right.. they were very good.

I’m going to add that midichlorians are probably the greatest literary invention in genre fiction ever.

Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 4:09 PMZOMG I can’t wait until Phantom Menace in 3D! Jar Jar in 3D! Can you imagine?! I hope he’s even further digitally enhanced with more screen time. It will be the culmination of my entire life.

Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 3:58 PMI’m holding on to the hope of Lucas giving way to his fans demands and his own greed and releasing the original trilogy sans meddling on blu-ray. Until that happens I’m happy with VHS.

Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 7:31 PMAnyone ever been in an art class, or drawn a picture, and you get to a point where what you’ve created looks just right, and really great, but then you think ‘Oh I might just add a little bit here and… DAMN!’, your work was better without the extra line or shading?
That’s what Lucas did with these movies, but I think his mind isn’t saying ‘DAMN!’
I won’t get these on Blu-Ray until the originals are released.

Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 10:16 PMI wouldn’t call these tinkered-with versions the “good ones”. The good ones still haven’t been released on bluray.

Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 9:25 AMGot one… I haven’t seen the ‘tinkered with’ version as I still have old VHS version (player is long since dead so haven’t watched for some time). Am looking forward to seeing then on Blu-Ray and hoping that my mind has faded to a point where I can enjoy them again with a little child like glee thrown in!

Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 3:04 PMTake them to a place where you can get VHS converted to DVD. :) The quality may not be awesome but at least it will be the original!

Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 6:28 PMThere was an edition of the DVDs that included discs of the original theatrical releases. Well worth the cost.
