Oh hey, it’s another big-ass OLED TV. LG Displays showed off a 55-inch OLED TV. Like Samsung, which also rolled showed a 55-inch today, LG is betting big on OLED.
It’s going to be a big couple of years for OLED. LG says it’s making OLED a big push this year and anticipating its costs will come down as it goes into mass production in the next two years. The one I saw was huge, vivid and slim, with great blacks and a itty-bitty bezel. It’s going to be interesting to see LG and Samsung’s models side by side in the coming months.

Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 12:50 PMFirst World problems.. There is always going to be a ‘next big thing’, just buy a tv you like and enjoy it or you’ll forever be waiting.
I remember when OLED tech was first announced years and years ago, the claim was that it was much. much cheaper to manufacture and that we would soon all have wall-sized tv’s for a fraction of the cost of current tvs.

Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 3:03 PMwell think about it
LED is much much cheaper to manufacture than Plasma and normal LCD tvs however when they first came out they were more expensive. thats because they werent in mass production yet.
now that theyre in mass production, look how cheap tvs are now compared to a couple years ago!
same will happen with OLED, in a couple years itll be cheaper than current tvs, however when theyre new, they’ll cost a mint.
