Julian Assange To Appear On The Simpsons

The news just broke that Julian Assange will play himself on the 500th episode of The Simpsons, which is set to air on February 19.

The Entertainment Weekly report comes just days after we heard that Julian Assange would have his own TV show in mid-March. Apparently, when you’re an international man of secrets who is wanted by multiple governments, your talents are in great demand on television. Simpsons creator Matt Groening heard a rumour that Assange was interested in appearing on the show, so Simpsons producers tracked the elusive hacker/activist down and made it happen. Assange’s voiceovers were recorded, go figure, in an unknown location. [Entertainment Weekly]

Please stop splitting your infinitives! Not “…tracked the elusive hacker/activist down…” but “…tracked down the elusive hacker/activist…”.

You are driving me out of my mind! Unless of course I was already out of my mind, which is possible.

    SPOLIER ALERT!
synopsis goes a bit like this…Assange recruits Homer to supply secret files on
Springfield Nuclear Plant’s illegal trafficking of weapons grade uranium to Iran.
Homer provides thousands of files of evidence but gets caught, goes to jail without trial and is never heard from again. Assange flees after Marg changes her story over what Assange insists was ‘consensual’ sex! It’s comedy gold!
