Julian Assange Is Getting His Own TV Show

Julian Assange has announced that he’s going to have his own TV show, where he’ll interview “key political players, thinkers and revolutionaries”, and it’s going to be hitting the screens this year. Is there anything this man won’t do?

The announcement was made on the WikiLeaks website yesterday, and explained how Assange is “uniquely placed to catalyse a global discussion” on future political change. There are going to be 10 whole episodes, apparently, and they will air in mid-March. There’s currently no word on where the show will be broadcast, or on which networks, though the statement describes that it will reach “600m viewers across cable, satellite and terrestrial broadcast networks”.

On the WikiLeaks site, Assange wrote:

“Through this series I will explore the possibilities for our future in conversations with those who are shaping it. Are we heading towards utopia, or dystopia and how we can set our paths? This is an exciting opportunity to discuss the vision of my guests in a new style of show that examines their philosophies and struggles in a deeper and clearer way than has been done before.”

Interesting. Presumably Assange won’t be filming in any exotic locations because he’s currently currently under house arrest in the UK awaiting his final extradition trial on February 1. The big question is, though: who would you like to see on it? [WikiLeaks via The Guardian]

What exactly has he done that deserves that little rant? Also I thought the poor bugger was in court trying to keep out of prison at the moment? Personally, he may be a bit of a narcissist, but he’s also helped shed the light on a lot of stuff that needed to be seen!

    Just a thought.
