JBL has a long history of making uniquely designed iPod docks. The OnBeat Xtreme is no exception, bringing Bluetooth audio streaming to an adjustable iOS dock.
The OnBeat Xtreme uses the Bluetooth connectivity to not just stream A2DP audio from Bluetooth enabled smartphones and tablets, but also allows the dock system to double as a speakerphone thanks to an integrated microphone. A USB port also allows for firmware updates and iTunes syncing, while an RF remote lets you control your iDevice from 9 metres away.
JBL has also developed its own app to complement the speaker called OnBeat, which lets you browse your music catalogue, set an alarm and control the EQ settings.
The dock costs $699, which places it in the premium range on the market. But it looks pretty sweet and JBL stuff generally sounds pretty sweet, so hopefully it will taste pretty sweet if you get one.
