Americans will be able to get your mitts on the gorgeous Nokia Lumia 900 in March, according to a newsletter published on the Nokia Developer website. Now what about us Aussies?
When Giz first saw the new, bigger, LTE-ready Windows phone last week at CES, we only knew it would be available “in the coming months” on AT&T in the States. Now the US has a date. Great. Stay tuned for Australian carrier info — we’re chasing it down. [Nokia Developer via eWeek]

Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 8:44 AMWhen is someone going to do a smaller WP7 phone? I don’t want anything this big.

Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 8:58 AMAh… the Nokia Lumia 800? It has a 3.7 inch screen, smaller than the Lumia 900′s 4.7 inch screen.

Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 9:23 AMDoesn’t have a front facing camera (If I remember correctly). It’s not really worth it unless you have a front facing camera

Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 10:12 PMSeriously don’t get what the big deal is with people wanting front facing cameras! Even all the people I know, whom use either an iPhone 4S or an Android device with a FFC barely (read: never) use it once the initial shock wears off. Heck, people tend to text more than call these days because it’s easier.
Not the biggest loss in the world. If you want a smaller device with a FFC, just get a HTC Radar or something.

Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 1:08 PMThe Lumia 800 is the same size as the phone I have now. I want something the size of an Xperia Ray or even smaller. The size of my ZuneHD would be absolutely perfect.

Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 8:57 AMI want this phone but a slightly smaller screen. Hopefully Nokia will do that or some other company like HTC but I’m very tired of reading the headlines on the Gizmodo Australia site and thinking “Yes, I’m buying a new phone in March” but only to have it say USA and not Australia.
Can we please have more about Australian release dates on the Giz AU site.

Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 12:57 PMI can’t wait for better handsets, I love my Omnia 7 and with a Lumina 900 or Focus s :).
It surprises me this os has not done better, it is amazing, consistently surprises me, The times I have helped friends upgrade there I-stuff I cannot believe how much better phone 7 really is. I-stuff is really feeling outdated. I think there are haters and fan boys, but until I used all 3 main devices I truly never appreciated each device for there advantages or flaws. My advice is unless there is an app you must have take a look. It’s seriously good, now hopefully there will be some handsets to match it. Hopefully we will get some in aus soon.. !!

Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 1:43 PMI wrote to Telstra via their website just after the Lumia 900 came out, telling them “get this phone, and you will get me back as a customer”.
In response, someone from Telstra Customer Services telephoned me yesterday (17/1/12) to say that the phone will likely be released in mid-March 2012, along with 3 other LTE enabled phones.
He then told me to go to their EOI page (google it) to register my interest.

Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 3:00 PMPitty they don’t have the nokia there :(

Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 4:33 PMYeah, the guy from Telstra said that he was unable to release too much information at this stage about the phone release, and I’m guessing they need to get all their ducks in a row before they make a big release announcement about the new LTE phones. They will probably update the EOI website then (but I only have eyes for Lumia)
I must say I was surprised when they called me with this information, it was about 6pm at night and the guy was very friendly. Either customer service isn’t totally dead, or they are desperate to claw customers back.

Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 12:35 PMMy contract is up so im looking for a new phone. Constant new choices. decisions? I have to say that the new Nokia design of the 900 black is both elegant and masculine. Be great if it maintained same sizing as the N9 or 800 as too many phones are getting way to big (like a paddle) and dont sit too well your pocket.

Friday, January 27, 2012 at 4:29 AMI kinda like the idea of the phone being embedded inside a single block of carved plastic but how about a premium version taken out of an aluminium alloy?
The particular flaw I don’t like is that it has in plan view. That’s just the kind of thing that will poke your pockets and catch as you rummage amongst things in your bag, and is something Jobs would never have allowed.

The particular flaw I don’t like is that it has *corners* in plan view. That’s just the kind of thing that will poke your pockets and catch as you rummage amongst things in your bag, and is something Jobs would never have allowed.

Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 4:13 PMRecently optus have listed the 800 as well.
https://www.optus.com.au/shop/mobilephones/nokia/lumia800
This follows the press from nokia saying all carriers will get the 800.
Hopefully we will see the 900 soon as other carriers start there 4g lte, (rumor from optus)

Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 9:08 AMDisappointed to read 900wont be compatible with Telstra 4G network. L900 made for USA network for AT&T. Is this going to be an ongoing situation as iPad 3 not compatible with Telstra 4G either. Internal antenna set for USA network.

Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 1:24 AMThat’s the problem when telstra continue to use bands that are outside the standards. I still expect custom radio firmware possible tho.
