Intel’s Nikiski Concept Has A Keyboard-Wide Transparent Touchscreen

Of all of the promises Intel made today about the future of ultrabooks, none was quite as appealing — or at least, attention-getting — as this wonderfully odd concept that uses a keyboard-wide transparent trackpad that doubles as a window into your screen. Hello, Nikiski. You’re a beautifully odd machine.

The prototype was demoed briefly overnight by Intel’s Mooly Eden, and while it’s far from showing up at your local Best Buy, it was perfectly functional on stage.

as I understand it the touchpad is just transparent, making us able to see a portion of the main screen while the device is closed.

judging by the photos the touchpad also works on the outside so you can control the smaller screen.

    bloody cool concept
