OMG why is wiki down?? How will I do my homework? WTF is this??? JESSIE have u seen this?? DOES ANYONE KNOW WHEN THE WAR OF 1812 STARTED OR WHY OR WHAT IT IS?? I’m angry on Twitter.
Herpderpedia chronicles what must be a very difficult day in the life of the uninformed, as countless people take to the tweets, adrift without Wikipedia.
The humane thing to do would be to tweet at every one of these people with a thoughtful explanation of SOPA, but the easier thing to do is just laugh. [Herpderpedia via Laughing Squid]

Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 10:18 AMStupid social media drones, the real drain on society is them. Instead of wasting their time on twitface and fakebook they could have taken a minute to figure out that you can still access wikipedia by pressing the stop button before the page fully loads..

Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 3:26 PMI run Firefox with a script blocker.
Wiki loads fine. Actually, I couldn’t work out what the fuss was until I remembered that fact. Turned scrpts back on, yep, blocked. Turned scripts off, all good again.
In other news, I have always maintained that it’s the users who put the twit in twitter.

Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 3:36 PMIt’s good people have this reaction, it’s what Wikipedia wanted the pollies to see as the result of wikipedia being closed. A mass outcry “WHERES MY FREEDOM”… .It’s working.
