This is either the world’s most opulent watch winder, or the most over-accessorised media centre. Either way, the Gigantis is targeted squarely at those who only care about showing off their lavish lifestyle.
The all-in-one cabinet opens to reveal slots for automatically winding 59 more watches than I own, controlled by a central touchscreen interface that keeps track of where the Rolexes and Tag Heuers are hiding. Below that is an LCD display with media centre functionality, followed by a working fireplace.
Below the banks of watch winders you’ll also find a temperature controlled humidor for storing your fine smokeables, and an illuminated mini bar. Not surprisingly the Gigantis starts at around $123,000, but that’s just the base price. It can be further customised with wood or leather finishes to match your decor and/or obnoxious lifestyle. Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 10:38 AMI always like to see these overly lavish and ridiculously pointless displays of wealth. Do people actually need watch winders? Surely they have butlers and other servants to do that job…? :)
