Turning Every Logo Into Comic Sans Is The Best Worst Idea

Oh, Comic Sans. You’re so approachable, so childlike, so human and… so disgustingly awful. As an eye gouge for many, the favouritest font of horrible rich people and vision vomit for the rest of us, Comic Sans should die 2136 times and then be wiped from our memories. OR SHOULD IT!? The Comic Sans Project hilariously flips famous logos into the deepest pits of font hell.

We live in a world where too many people use Comic Sans without knowing how many people they’re pissing off. So let’s piss off everyone! UNITE PEOPLE. We can make Comic Sans the new Helvetica. Check out more logos set in Comic Sans at The Comic Sans Project. [The Comic Sans Project via Laughing Squid]

Here’s a perfect example of how Comic Sans would work in our NCSWO (New Comic Sans World Order). The blue screen of death which represents failure would double down on itself by using Comic Sans on their font. For people who hate the font, it pisses ‘em off even more. For people who use the font because they think it looks ‘cute’, they’ll become more understanding of computer failure! Double down on the fail for the win.

Sorta’s Simpsons meets Star Wars here but I’m not going to say anything because for all we know, George Lucas will make this kind of switch in the next box set.

HA HA TUMBLR. You hip and cool and with it bastard, wear the scarlet letter of Comic Sans and see how hip and cool and with it you are now!

Kanye West pants just exploded.

People who get annoyed with Comic Sans are pretty sad and frankly a bit pathetic, It’s just a font, move on, get serious about real issues that affect life.

You swear when you stub your toe? That’s pretty sad and frankly a bit pathetic, It’s just a little pain, move on, get serious about real issues that affect life.

World hunger and climate change aren’t the only things that affect us as individuals. Unfortunately life is infinitely more complex and varied and all sorts of things affect each of us in different ways.

Everyone I know that has stubbed their toe did get over it pretty quickly and has moved on with their life. So what’s your point?

I reckon there is a direct correlation between use of comic sans and world peace. I could not think of a bigger issue facing society today than the use of this font.

      It’s the opposite.
If this has no effect on you what so ever, you obviously have a very superficial appreciation of design. But don’t worry, there are others out there to set the trends for you to consume.

Actually, Helvetica is the new Comic Sans.
I’ve tried to look objectively at comic sans, because there’s a lot of hype about it and the hate has been exaggerated to epic proportions… But it’s actually really and truly an awful set of lettering. In design terms, it’s a visual discord. It’s like an HP Lovecraftian creation; stare at it too long and you begin to lose your sanity.
If the necronomicon was real, this is the font it would be written in.

There is a fundamental difference between Helvetica and Comic Sans: Helvetica is pretty. Comic Sans is ugly.

I used to like Comic Sans, back when the only other font I knew was Times New Roman.

There is nothing wrong with Comic Sans. It’s the people who use it that are the problem. You see official documents done with a font that is obviously meant to be casual and fun.

For those ‘designers’ our there, who spit on Comic Sans as a viable font…I dare you to produce a poster, that has a comic strip theme, with the characters talking…..and not consider comic sans as an alternative.

      +1
An international student friend of mine received a scholarship certificate from the university a few months back… which was written in Comic Sans.
Clearly not a suitable use for the font.

This. Don’t get me wrong, I have laughed my ass of at the inappropriate uses for comic sans (Comic Sans Criminal) but it does have it’s place and it is actually a completely viable font in the right circumstances.
