It might look like a steampunk creation, but Leon’s Trithon Reyn TV is an actual product, inspired by the sets of yesteryear including the Philco Barber Pole with its swivelling and tilting CRT screen.
But the Trithon opts for a modern LCD display instead, perched atop an included 2.4m tripod stand made from walnut wood with steel and brass hinges and fixtures. From the looks of that footprint you’re going to need to dedicate a fairly large corner of your room to accommodate it.
Unfortunately, as the company seems more focused on design there’s not much in the way of technical specs, which makes it hard to justify the $US35,000 price tag. Unless a genuine python-skin belt surrounding the frame sits at the top of your must-have features list. Because I’m pretty sure Sony, Sharp, and Panasonic don’t offer that. Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 4:44 PMHow… silly. I or indeed anyone could make that for less than $3000, and do a much better job on making a nicer looking design.
Besides, a tripod is a terrible platform for a TV, especially one that costs that much- They’re wonderfully stable, till they get a slight nudge.. Are these people exceptionally dim or do they just have very little idea about design and a massively inflated regard for their limited abilities?
