An anonymous reader sent me this crazy video taken two weeks ago: a truck out of control almost smashes a car on a snowy road. Fortunately, these guys got extremely lucky and Death got distracted at the very last second.
If I’m not mistaken this is a road in Poland, but I may be wrong.
May this serve as our classic holidays reminder about how important it is to drive safe especially during these days. Be alert, my friends. Lots of icy roads, drunkards and imprudent drivers out there. [Thanks Hans!]

Monday, December 19, 2011 at 9:34 AMwow. I like how the guy just keeps driving as if nothing happens.
Also, who drives around recording video??

Monday, December 19, 2011 at 10:29 AMSome people have video recorders running whenever they are driving in case they need to prove who was at fault in an accident.
Im also amazed how seemingly cool these guys are after coming so close to getting wiped. I wonder what happened to the cars behind after the truck went past them.

Monday, December 19, 2011 at 7:25 PMI’ve had a couple of very narrow escapes on roads and elsewhere and I’ve been very calm at the time. I think it’s pretty common as the survival instinct kicks in to enable you to remain in control as much as possible. The first chance you have to sit back and take stock of what happened is when it hits you. In one or two of my escapes I’ve become a gibbering, shaking wreck an hour or two later.

Just This Guy ...
Monday, December 19, 2011 at 12:00 PMThanks for posting this one. I saw the same clip on another site the other day, but it stopped just as the wayward truck passed by. This one shows what the cause was. A stopped snow plough by the looks.

Monday, December 19, 2011 at 5:47 PMIf it were me in the drivers seat, I know for sure I would have been going “SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII….” waiting for the splat. How calm and eerily quiet these guys were, waiting to die. :-/ And then, happily not! :-)

Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 4:13 PMIs thus video for real, or a fake, created by stunt drivers? Absolutely no reaction, a steady camera all the way through. And they seem to know when to speed up to attempt to overtake the truck just as the other one was sliding past….too surreal to be true.
