The Only USB Cable You’ll Ever Need

Manufacturers are never going to agree on a universal charging standard, but Innergie makes that empty promise easier to stomach with their Magic Cable Trio that’s got you covered whether you need a microUSB, miniUSB or Apple dock connector cable.

The tips all daisy-chain together, creating a single cable when you need to use it with an Apple device. But as they’re individually removed to gain access to the micro and miniUSB adapters, the hinged design ensures the unused tips don’t go missing in action. And it’s just $US20, so if you stash one in your drawer and in your bag you’ll always be covered for any charging or syncing emergency. [Innergie via Red Ferret]

No type B. Seems like an odd omission.

B used mostly on large things like printers and scanners, which aren’t very portable.

It’s missing one important addition. A cable connecting the detachable heads – back to the line.

Otherwise I’d give myself 6 months, and I’d have lost all the attachments.

That’s what I thought too, but seems they pull apart to unplug, then pivot out of the way. Nice.

I hear reading the article first helps.

Does it do data as well, or is it strictly for charging only?

Website says – Charge & Sync
Charge the battery of your device and transfer data at the same time

I use one of these every day (Mini-Micro only, and the cable is retractable). The whole hinge-slide idea is ingenious.
