A sporty hatchback crashing through 2738 water balloons? Thankfully you don’t have to grow out your fingernails to secure a Guinness World Record these days. All you need is a healthy marketing budget and a clever PR stunt.
That’s exactly how Alfa Romeo managed to secure the “most amount of water balloons burst by a car” world record which I’m pretty sure didn’t actually exist prior to this stunt. I’m inclined to be morally outraged at Guinness’ choice to sell out to ad agencies and marketing departments in recent years, but watching slow-motion Epic Red footage of an Alfa MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde sliding through thousands of water balloons is enough to satiate my discontent. A 10 year old with enough volunteers could beat this one.
