You already saw a photo of the Toyota Fun-Vii concept. This video shows how they want that car to work in… THE FUTURE!
Apparently, Toyota thinks that cars should be all covered with ultra-vibrant screens so they can turn into crazy rave clubs in which every nauseatingly happy passenger is raving on an MDMA overdose and playing on augmented reality games.
And you know what, that future is not coming soon enough.

Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 6:53 AMDude, you will get what you wish for. That future in the video, IS the zombie apocalypse. they just don’t know it themselves.

Monday, December 5, 2011 at 3:45 PMSo apparently in the future everything is homogenised and boring? Would’ve been more realistic with a bit of grunge and the occasional less than 10 person. Don’t think I’d fit in to the one Toyota is pushing!

Monday, December 5, 2011 at 3:46 PMA bit over the top maybe, but in principle they are correct. I envisage a future where almost any shape and surface can be a display, and be affordable too. Lets say in 50 to 100 years time is my guess. Perhaps sooner for those who can afford it.

Monday, December 5, 2011 at 4:13 PMSo many things wrong with that video… I hope i don’t live to see that version of the future. I can’t undestand why people take some good ideas and bury them in a pile of rubbish by taking it too far.

Monday, December 5, 2011 at 5:29 PMIt’s a cool concept, but it’s too crystal clean and uniform for me. Wouldn’t want the exact same thing as everyone else.

Monday, December 5, 2011 at 8:59 PMSo, you’d never own an iPhone etc., have a PS3 or xbox, or heaven forbid….oh shock horror, own a production car. What a load of tripe.

Monday, December 5, 2011 at 11:49 PMthose are appliances. you have them to do other things on. a car is pure in its function. you buy a car to drive it somewhere but also you buy one that is personalised you dont buy a uniform one and then personallise it. some people view cars as appliances like fridges sure but even then not everyone has the same fridge as not evertone has the same inteior design and need of space. and even then cars have a soul and personality that goes far deeper then any other piece of kit you have because you interact with a car in a way that is more complete then anything else (name one other thing you own where your using 4 out of 5 sences constantly and gives feedback to every part of your body). i for one morn the day when driving is done my machines and all cars are the same. it would suck.

Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 12:00 AMoh and not to mention that with say 15 odd makes in australia each with say 5 models average each of which have 3 specs average (not including options). that means that there are 225 different cars available today. each being noticably different. PLUS 100 years of second hand models which are also individual and unique…soooooo yeah and i havent even mentioned after market and optional extras …and the aussie market is limited to a small range of what most makers have available world wide. so buying a production car is totally not the same as buying a iphone.

Monday, December 5, 2011 at 5:30 PMOh and the virtual racing part was the best, that could actually be fun.

Monday, December 5, 2011 at 11:41 PMits funny how the add is multi cultural but you can tell completely that the world has been taken over by the japaneese cause everyone in the add has the complete manorism set of a young jap person.

Monday, December 5, 2011 at 11:59 PMThese cars are pretty much built, right? Well cars with touchscreens on the sides anyway.
So an advertising company buys a bunch and rents out the advertising space and drives these cars around the city, they’ll make their money back in no time.
