Apple’s Recalled First Gen iPod Nanos Are Now Being Replaced With New Models

Back in November, Apple recalled its first gen iPod nanos because of battery issues. Early responders had theirs replaced with the same model — but now Apple is sending out the current Nano instead.

Even though the original recall warned users that it could take six weeks to get their replacement, many customers got reconditioned first-gen iPods through the post extremely quickly.

But now, maybe because that stock of old iPods has run out, people are receiving shiny new nanos. So if you still haven’t had your replacement nano, or you’ve been slow in sending it back, you can expect a touch-screen replacement through the post. [Mac Rumors]

Oh Hells yeah! I was wondering why it was taking so long!! Not bad considering the original was sitting on a shelf collecting dust!! Thanks Apple!
