Apple Supplier Factory Explodes Injuring 57

There has been an explosion at one of factories of Pegatron Corp — a manufacturer of back panel parts for Apple’s iPad 2. The explosion has injured 57. Reuters is reporting that 23 has been hospitalised with burns.

The explosion, which happened in Shanghai’s Songjiang industrial park around 3:40pm local time, could also affect Apple’s iPad 2 production next quarter, according to China’s Yi Cai Daily. [Reuters]
